Advertising and partnerships

Nectar keeps commercial information transparent and separate from editorial judgement. This page describes the principles used in 2026.

1. Clear labels

Sponsored content, paid placements and affiliate relationships are labelled in plain language near the relevant material.

2. Editorial separation

Advertisers cannot approve independent articles, alter conclusions or suppress corrections. Editors retain final responsibility for the site.

3. Suitable categories

We consider context, safety and relevance before accepting a partnership. We do not publish claims that promise guaranteed health or performance outcomes.

4. Health claims

Products cannot be presented as cures, diagnoses or substitutes for professional care. Supporting evidence and limitations must be visible.

5. Audience respect

We do not use fear, shame, false scarcity or aggressive urgency. The reader should be able to distinguish information from promotion.

6. Data

Contact submissions are not sold to advertisers. Data handling follows the privacy and cookie policies.

7. Reviews

Commercial relationships are reviewed before renewal and may be declined if they create a conflict with editorial trust.

8. Corrections

Commercial material can be corrected or removed if it is inaccurate, unsafe or no longer meets the agreement.

9. Events

Partners at educational events are introduced honestly. Their presence does not mean Nectar endorses every statement they make.

10. Complaints

Send concerns to [email protected] with the page, label and issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 10 business days.

11. Review period

This policy is reviewed every six months, with the next review scheduled for 31 December 2026.

12. History

1 January 2026, initial policy. 1 October 2026, clarified labels, health claims and partner review.

The policy applies to sponsored articles, display placements, event partnerships, affiliate references and other paid arrangements that appear beside or within Nectar's public information. Each proposal is reviewed for relevance, audience suitability, legal clarity and the ability to label the relationship without confusing readers. A commercial relationship does not change the editorial disclaimer or the privacy choices available to visitors.

Labels are placed close to the relevant material and use plain terms such as sponsored, paid partnership or affiliate link where appropriate. An advertiser may check factual details about its own organisation, but it cannot require a favourable conclusion, remove an accurate correction or present general information as a personal outcome. Editorial and commercial records are kept separately with access limited to the people who need them.

Partnership enquiries may be sent to [email protected]. We may request evidence for objective statements, clarification of ownership and confirmation that claims can be supported in the intended jurisdiction. Contact information supplied during commercial discussions is retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful exchange unless a shorter period is appropriate, and is not sold to another advertiser.

Readers may report a missing label, inaccurate claim or confusing placement with the page address and a description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 10 business days and provide an initial outcome within 30 calendar days. This policy was effective from 1 January 2026 and is reviewed every six months, with the next scheduled review on 31 December 2026.
